Come on people. Get mad. Do all the women in Hollywood have to have great legs? For once I'd like to see a woman in the spotlight with a great upper body and lymphedema in the legs. Who's gonna represent us here who have struggled with feeling alone in our swelling and big legs?

ReplyDeleteMy name is Rebecca and I have also lymphedema, and I can tell you that here in Spain is one news tv presenter (a very beautiful woman) with lymphedema in one leg (primary) and a singer with lymphedema in one arm due to a cancer. But the singer dont wear the arm stocking...
Thanks for commenting Rebecca. It's good to hear that you have some women with lymphedema in the spotlight in Spain. Do they do anything to make the public aware of what lymphedema is?
ReplyDeleteHere in America, it's a different story. Hopefully, one day, there will be a person on T.V., in the movies, or on stage that has lymphedema & can make a wider audience aware of what it is, because there are a lot of people living with lymphedema & some may not even know they have it due to Dr.'s not even knowing what it is. It's a shame.
This has been a peeve of mine for ages. Niecy Nash is the only person I've heard of who actually has primary lymphedema and it doesn't seem to affect her much. I never see her leg covered in compression.
